Samoens Region
Samoens is part of the Grand Massif region of France, which lies between Geneva and Mont Blanc and includes the towns of Samoens, Morillon, Sixt fer à Cheval, Les Carroz and Flaine. It is one of the largest Ski areas in France, with a Ski piste area of 265km, a reliable snow record and a lack of lift queues.
The village is about 700m high with two lifts from the village to the ski areas.

Another pretty village, Sixt fer à Cheval is rated as one of the most beautuiful villages in France. more -

The village as a resort has its origins dating back to the 1930's. As like Samoens, Les Carroz also has an enviable snow record and consistent skiing conditions.more -

The well known Ugly resort of Flaine was purpose built in the 1960's because of its fantastic snow conditions and skiing bowl, easily accessible from Samoens.more -

About Samoens
Samoens is set amid forest and is listed in France as a "Historic Monument", as it still retains an ancient church, medieval fountains and rustic old buildings.
Samoens In Winter
The Ski area is accessed via the Grand Massif Express. The Samoens area has 78 ski lifts and 265 km of piste. As of 2009 there are 132 runs.
